Certifying Bodies


Successful trainees will receive Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia or Malaysian Skills Certificate upon completion of vocational programmes that are accredited by Department of Skills Development (JPK).

Trainees have the option of taking additional assessment to be certified by international bodies such as City & Guilds (C&G) and Confederation of Tourism, Hotel and Catering Management (CTHCM).

Upon successful completion of recognized programmes, trainees or graduates are able to obtain membership in international professional bodies:

Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia by Department of Skills Development or Jabatan Pembangunan Kemahiran (JPK)

The Department of Skills Development, formerly known as The National Vocational Training Council (MLVK) is one of the agencies under the Malaysian Human Resource ministry, responsible for the co-ordination of skills training as well as career development in skills training, in line with the implementation of the National Skills Development Act, 652 (2006) on September1, 2006.

City & Guilds (C&G)

City & Guilds (C&G) is the UK's leading vocational awarding body, offering more than 500 qualifications over 28 industry sectors – so that they can learn skills that equip them to fulfil their career ambitions or enrich their leisure time.

The Institute of The Motor Industry (IMI)

IMI is a professional body, based in the UK, for people employed in the motor industry. There are 25,000 individual IMI members, from across all areas of the motor industry, who are recognised for their skills and experience. IMI Membership is awarded on the basis of an individual's qualifications, career history and motor industry experience.

SEGi Training Centre at Seri Kembangan is part of IMI's network of over 300 IMI approved assessment centres, across the UK and overseas. These centres deliver training to students and motor industry employees. IMI provides services such as provision of full-time national quality assurance team, independent advisory board of motor industry executives, involved in education, training and human resources. It also has a proven on-line assessment system.

IMI prides itself for having a comprehensive portfolio of national qualifications, both technical and non-technical, and is the only awarding body which is totally focused on the skills requirements of the automotive sector.

Confederation Of Tourism, Hotel & Catering Management (CTHCM)

The Confederation was established in 1982 to provide recognised standards of management and vocational training appropriate to the needs of the hotel and travel industries, via its syllabi, examinations and awards. CTHCM are the only established specialist professional body in the UK focusing on the training needs of new entrants to the hospitality and tourism industries.

The CTHCM Programmes are recognised by major organisations in the hospitality and tourism industries as suitable for employment at supervisory and management level. CTHCM Management Programmes have been awarded HCIMA Endorsement.
